Hobbit trailer debuts, and the world meets Richard Armitage

Did you hear that? That was the sound of geeks/nerds/fangirls/fanboys/ringers and film fans all holding their breath and finally releasing a shriek of excitement. The Hobbit trailer is here.
And it is fucking amazing.

I’m still trying to calm myself down.
Stop smiling like an idiot, Shirley. Stop it!

We had a bit of Sir Ian Holm as an older Bilbo, a back shot of Frodo (who looks rather tall for a Hobbit—did Elijah grow?), and then we got into the nitty gritty—some Freeman, a wizard, some elves, Gollum and most importantly—12 dwarves and the leader of their company, Thorin freaking Oakenshield. HOLY MOLY, the most gorgeous, fiercest dwarve EVER! And to top it off he sings! Thorin sings!  Sing to me baby!!!

I don’t know about you, but Armitage’s voice singing of the Misty Mountains sent chills down my spine and put a tear in my eye. I’m proud of him, as weird as that sounds, but I am. And I’m so happy the world will finally take notice of his talents and give him the recognition he deserves!

He’s just perfect as Thorin. Perfect!

Ah, there’s so much more I want to say, but I’m just too excited. I’m jumping, and shouting and singing about Misty Mountains!

For a complete breakdown/screencaps and video of the trailer check out RichardArmitageNet.com or Bcc Mee’s website

Also, make sure you check out The Hobbit’s new website which went live tonight, www.thehobbit.com

I need it to be December 14, 2012 already!
